unlucky steamship

This was first documentary mission for me & my new toy, a Soviet film camera FED 3. Unlucky steamship restaurant has almost sank because of the changes in water level & ice melting. It’s kind of a sad Titanic story but this ship is firmly attached to the shore, not sailing anywhere at all—probably same dramatic for the owner whom I talked to on the field.

I’m still investigating those overexposed stains, does anybody knows what it could be?

occupy barracks

This Thursday, December 22nd was very very important to us. More than a hundred of activists, artists, professionals, independent cultural and art initiatives, youth and child education associations, volunteer organizations, sports clubs, organizations for people with disabilities & all other active citizens, peacefully entered the old military barracks facility “Archibald Reiss” in Novi Sad, abandoned 5 years ago.

We are turning the whole place into the independent social/community centre “Društveni centar” & we are working hard every day to make our dream come true. This is our reaction to the present problems which hinder social and cultural development of the city. This is extremely important. Actually this act is illegal because it’s a military property, but we still haven’t experienced any problems with the military or police. They just showed up a few times & correctly talked with us. Also, we still didn’t get an official approval from the authorities to proclaim the facility as a public space.

Our cultural program has started from the first day, which is unbelievable because we still do not have electricity or water infrastructure. But, we are full of enthusiasm & great ideas. I love these people here. We will make it.

I’m twenty & fully alive

Being sick on birthday last Wednesday was not that fun, but I was fulfilled with great feelings talking with friends and family on Skype & reading all those beautiful wishes you send to me. Thank you all. There will be no special birthday party this year, couz I’ve decided to celebrate life every day. Every day is worth celebrating. We can celebrate everything we can imagine.

I think there’s nothing special in numbers such as date of our birth or our age, rather than how we feel & what we have achieved through life, what we can be proud of. That’s worth looking back.

I’m happily in love with a wonderful girl & I love my family more than ever before. I’m getting more and more jobs to do. I got a scholarship. I breathe. I smile. I grow. I am fully alive.

Best friend Vera visited me in Novi Sad last weekend. We had so much fun, fun, fun, and… we also had fun, lots of :P She met my friends here and it was exciting to hang out with her again.
